Remember this Place

Remember this place, 31°20’46”N 34°46’46”E" (2023-ongoing), is an interactive virtual reality experience that considers the home, directed by Patricia Echeverria Liras and Main Collaborater Lobna Sana later joined by artists Roba Frawna. Part of a project that records disappearing communities, spaces, and cultures, the film embarks on a journey with Palestinian women – activists, architects, artists, mothers and poets – from Bedouin villages of the Naqab, who struggle to preserve their homes, culture, and histories from the constant threat of demolition and displacement by Israeli military and settlement development. Palestinian Bedouins, indigenous inhabitants of the land, live in mostly “unrecognized villages” or poorly planned townships in the Naqab – historic Palestine’s largest district. Prejudicial land policies have excluded the Bedouin communities from plans as well as made it impossible for them to build where they live, struggling to keep their homes.
